Skepsi on Swanston is a purpose-built gallery located on
the ground floor of the Astorial Apartments building designed by
Nation Fender Katsalidis at 670 Swanston Street, Carlton.
Our gallery exhibits work by over 300 Australian artists. Our
extensive collection of artworks consists of ceramics, glass,
paintings, drawings, sculpture, and jewellery.
Skepsi is committed to individuality, innovation and promoting art
straight from the artist’s studio. Our objective has been to promote
artworks of excellence by both prominent and emerging artists. We
also serve as a venue for tertiary students to view current works by
artists, especially in ceramics and glass.
We strive to encourage a diverse public to visit the gallery.
Exhibitions change monthly enabling us to introduce and present a
varied body of work, giving people an opportunity to discover
exciting new visual expressions.
Skepsi is run by Anna Maas who is an artist and ceramist with 25
years' experience in the arts community.
Skepsi, a Greek word for “thought and reflection”,
epitomises the process underlying the creation and appreciation of
art.
